A memory box is something that you can create overtime and continue to build on. Use a shoe box, plastic bin, old chest or any container you like. Store old movie and concert ticket stubs, brochures from cities you've traveled together, old letters (you can even print out email exchanges), greeting cards, notes and anything else that represents things the two of you have experienced together. Give the memory box as a romantic gift and encourage your partner to contribute to it. Every once in a while, take out the box and go through the items together, reminiscing about all the special times you've had. It's a great way to reconnect and may inspire you to make future plans.
Make a New Year's resolution to take pictures of your spouse or partner (or the two of you together) every month of the year. Then in December, arrange all the pictures by month and put them in a scrapbook or photo album to present to your loved one as a Christmas gift. You can also use the photos to create a monthly calendar for the following year. Many companies such as Big Huge Labs, allow you to upload the photos you want to use to create a 12-month calendar. Then you can purchase the high-quality card stock, wire-bound calendar featuring your pictures for under twenty bucks.
For his birthday, your anniversary, Christmas or anytime, give him the gift of a special day set aside just for him. He can sleep in late while you cook his favorite breakfast. Then he can lounge around watching sports or the two of you can go do something that he has been really wanting to do. Make the day special by cooking him anything he wants and doing anything he wants in the bedroom too. Don't be surprised if he reciprocates with a special day just for you on your birthday.
