Hello, everyone!

This is Kate Walsh blogging at you. Welcome to Boyfriend Appreciation Month!

What better way to wend our way to Thanksgiving than by giving thanks to boyfriends everywhere? To boyfriends past, present and future, we are here to say:  "Thanks, dude. You rock!" Or, "Remember that one time when you did that thing? That was so cool, babe" and "I like that." The rest of the time, we can sit around and complain about what our boyfriends are or are not doing,  but why not take this month to focus on all the things we love about them? Let's talk about our boyfriends all month long, sharing stories of what we love most about being attached.

happy coupleWhat is a boyfriend?

"A boyfriend is a person's regular male companion in a romantic and/or sexual relationship[1], though normally not in long-term committed (e.g., marital) relationships, where other titles (e.g., husband, partner) are more commonly used."

Ugh. Women, come on: We can do better than that, can't we? That's the Wikipedia definition of boyfriend, and it kind of hurts my feelings. It's so clinical and cold! Even Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery could come up with something a little less medical and a little more steamy.

Boyfriend inspiration

One of the reasons I was inspired to create the Boyfriend fragrance was because my boyfriend and I had just split up and I really missed him. Specifically, I missed that indescribable, unnamable-something-nuzzly, delicious quality that made me feel all warm and fuzzy and petite (even though I did basically come out of the womb 5 foot 9 inches).

The only thing I could put my finger on was his cologne -- his scent -- and how it conjured up all the memories, images and stories of him and of us. This is what I wanted to celebrate in the Boyfriend brand:  romance, love, joy, fun and sensuality. All the things I would put on a plate and eat if I could!

I am no expert -- puuullllease. But I thought it might be fun to share my ideas, stories and experiences and hear from all of you as well. So, let's start a little lady party here on SheKnows and see what we come up with!

I look forward to hanging out with you all for the month of November as we celebrate Boyfriend Appreciation Month.

I would love to see you carry refills for the solid perfume zipper gold compact. Also maybe design it a little better as it is very very hard to open. You need a boyfriend to open it..lol or break your nail trying! On that note, no pun intended, I love love my new boyfriend. Please think about coming out with a powder, and deodorant too! You outdid yourself on Boyfriend and I hope it gets into the upper retail department store since it is very hard to find as it is always sold out. Would love to see the solid perfume in a bigger size. maybe as a roll on. Ladies, if you have not tried Boyfriend then your missing out on a totally awesome scent. I love taking my new boyfriend everywhere I go. At least this boyfriend cannot break my heart unless it is discontinued.

I love that you're blogging, and I can't wait to buy/receive your fragrance. Very exciting! I wonder what Addison's steamy boyfriend definition would be; I'm sure it would describe Sam.

Thanks so much for posting Kate! Excited to see what you bring to the SK table this month. You are so right that many times women sit around talking about what are men are NOT doing. It's a nice change to celebrate all the great things they bring to our life.
