Have a girls' night in
Girls' night out is fun, but when the martini hangover fades away in the morning, you probably aren't any closer to your friends. So this weekend, instead of heading to a noisy club, stay home and reconnect with your friends.
If you haven't seen some of your friends in a while, the event will take some planning. Synchronize your calendars and find a date that works for everyone. To save some cash, make it a potluck or BYOB.

Have a slumber party.
If you have friends coming from out of town or if cocktails are going to be flowing, having a sleepover is your best bet. If you don't have enough spare bedrooms, don't worry: Just bring plenty of blankets and pillows to the living room and have a good old-fashioned slumber party.
Establish a theme.
Beauty product testing -- One of the best themes for girls' night in is a beauty product test party. Each of your girlfriends brings a new beauty product that is getting a lot of hype. You all take turns trying and testing the products. It's a terrific way to find out which items are worth buying.
Clothing swap -- A clothes swap is also a wonderful idea for girls' night in. Every guest cleans out her closet and brings all the clothes, handbags and accessories that she doesn't wear anymore. You and your friends spend the evening swapping and trying on clothes. Any that are unwanted at the end of the night can be donated to a local women's shelter or other charity.

Poker night -- Host a ladies' only poker night. Serve appetizers, drink frou frou cocktails and smoke cigars. You can play for cash or just for fun. If you don't know the rules, here's how to play Texas Hold 'Em.
The best way to reconnect is to just talk. Sit around the living room with some popcorn or ice cream. Reminisce about old times. Talk about lost loves and new interests. Get back to basics and remember what made you friends in the first place.

Once the night is over, make an effort to stay connected. No matter how busy your life gets, take a few minutes every week to call or email your besties to catch up. Make girls' night in a monthly event!
