Dr. Nelson did not get all her experience in a classroom. She has loved and lost and lived to find love again. She became a relationship expert to stop people from making the same mistakes she did. Dr. Nelson is the author of nine books including her most recent, Your Man is Wonderful (Free Press) a warm and realistic account of how to turn your "toad on the couch" into the prince of your dreams. Others include Dangerous Relationships: How to Identify and Respond to the Seven Warning Signs of a Troubled Relationship (De Capo Books), The Power of Appreciation: The Key to a Vibrant Life (Beyond Words) and Get Your Way (Prentice Hall).
She has established herself as a relationship source for a multitude of media including publications such as Cosmo, Glamour, Redbook, Women's Health and People and has appeared on national television including ABC's "The View," "Montel Williams," CBS's "The Early Show" and "Better TV." She has spoken on appreciation techniques before audiences in the U.S., Canada, England and Australia.
A licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Nelson holds advanced degrees in clinical psychology from the United States International University (M.A., Ph.D.), and sociology degrees from the University of California at Los Angeles (B.A.) and the Sorbonne, Paris (Maitrise, Doctorat 3eme Cycle).
