A recent visit to Manhattan's legendary Museum of Sex yielded more than a mob of 18-year-old girls giggling in the foyer – it provided an entertaining and educated look into the history of sex.

Here are some little-known sex facts that may surprise you – or at least give you ammunition for a fascinating dinner conversation!

According to the Museum of Sex, the vibrator was originally used as a medicinal treatment for female "hysteria" during the 19th century. The vibrator-induced orgasms helped doctors dissipate hysteria's anxiety-related symptoms.

Semen contains zinc and calcium, both of which are proven to prevent tooth decay.

3Hop to it

The iconic "Rabbit" is renowned for two things: excellent orgasm results and an odd smiley face on its tip. Women's Health tells us the smiley face was actually a result of conservative Japanese customs. Apparently, Japanese consumers frown upon "the production of sex toys that too closely resemble phalluses," so the smiley face was added.

I am divorced man with 2 precious daughters. My ex chose to end our 17 year marriage with a 3 month affair with a co-worker. Since being divorced I have had a tremendous amount of married women and women in a relationship asking me out or just wanting to "party" for a weekend. It sounds fun but is a big turn off knowing they choose not to be truthful to their significant other. Maybe not as much as men but women are almost their for adultery!

I live in MS(Mississippi) & me and my girlfriend have no problem buying ANY kind of toy in fact you can get a vibrator in a Spencers or Hot Topic out here so lol 10 is not a fact.

Fact # ten is incorrect. I live in Alabama and there is no ban on toys. There are toy shops all over the state.

I had no idea most of these facts! Maybe we should make that same law as Hong Kong so men here would stop being unfaithful. What would the punishment be for women who cheat too?! I can't believe that shops are illegal in some states. Can't you just order things online still?! I'm not particularly a fan of them, but some women really do! So funny about their invention though, there was just an indie movie about that, right?!

Actually, number 10 isn't a lie. It became illegal just recently and they're still working on shutting the stores down. I do Slumber Parties and our distributors have been fighting this issue for the last few years. We label everything as "novelty use only" just for this reason, but in some towns, they still make things very rough for us! We've squeeked by because we conduct our shows in the privacy of our hostesses' home.

ladies we all know that if they made that a legal law in the united states we would have a dramatic decrease in our population due to the fact that in the united states there are so many unfaithfull men. all though a decrease wouldnt be such a bad thing.
