What can you believe, and what's just fiction? We do some myth-busting here!

1

Men cannot have orgasms unless they ejaculate
False: Believe it or not, a man is actually able to have multiple orgasms. If he is having more than one orgasm in a short period of time, he will not ejaculate for all of them. While men can do this, it's quite a hard concept to grasp for most of them. Like most things, it's all in the technique. To initiate the right playing field for multiple male orgasms you can use prostate massage (this creates a full body orgasm) or block the urethra by holding the base of the penis prior to ejaculation.

2

Semen is good for you, and it's low carb
False: If your girl is on Atkins, she might need to learn how to spit after oral sex, because the findings about what's in semen won't please her dieting senses at all! Whoever said that semen was low in carbohydrates did not know what semen is. Semen is made primarily of fructose (fruit sugars) and enzymes. This means that in no uncertain terms, semen is not low carb.

3

The average penis size, when erect, is eight inches
False: I love a man who flatters their gender. Unfortunately, boys, most of us girls aren't used to seeing them quite so big. If we are, it's usually from a small amount of men. Despite popular rumors, the average erection usually tops out around six inches and not eight.

4

Size doesn't matter when it comes to insertion
True: However, visuals will come into play here quite a bit. When I was learning about sex, I often heard the term "he will break you in half." I always got this horrendous image of being broken in half…by a penis. Obviously, this cannot happen. If a penis is bigger, the vagina will stretch around it and make it fit. If it's smaller, the vagina can accommodate that, as well. No man wants to believe size matters and most women will say that it doesn't. In the end, all the girls I know favor girth over length any day. After all, a pencil only does so much damage, while a chub will have the ability to leave a lasting impression.

5

Changing your diet will make your semen taste better
True: Semen is bitter, but it doesn't have to taste that way. If you want to make it taste better (a good argument for swallowing) then try cutting out things like coffee and broccoli, which will only add to the bitter taste.

6

Sex in the water kills the little swimmers
True: Some sperm will die if you have sex in a pool, an open body of water, the hot tub, or even the shower/bathtub. If you are in the hot tub, the hot water can even overheat your testicles, which can kill even more sperm. Now that you know this, forget absolutely every single argument for birth control you just read because this will not kill all the sperm that are produced... and it only takes one to make a baby.

7

Men don't have G-spots
True: Of course, this is only half true. Men have an elusive source of pleasure that is not often tapped into, just like women. On a man, this is known as the prostate (P-Spot). The reason many men aren't aware of the power of this spot is because you have to reach it through the anus. Most men can't get over this and won't ever experience it just because of their fear. However, they truly don't know what they are missing. Stimulating the prostate gland will ensure for longer, more intense orgasms. It will also flush the prostate, bringing in new blood and oxygen, which is a big help.

8

I can't get her pregnant if we have sex while she's on her period
False: Sperm can live inside a woman for five days. While there is really only a 24 hour window where a woman is ripe for getting pregnant, you won't know when those 24 hours are going to be. While it may not be common, the reason most women do not get pregnant during this time is because most women aren't having sex during this time. It's not impossible and it definitely can happen.

9

I can skip the condoms and not get her pregnant by withdrawing prior to orgasm
False: I don't know why anyone believes this, but not only does this carry a large risk of getting a woman pregnant, it also carries a high risk of transferring diseases, as well. Prior to ejaculation and orgasm your penis will leak semen in small amounts (pre-ejaculation, anyone?). This semen can contain thousands of sperm. It only takes one so if you don't want a baby or a disease, it's a good idea to wear that condom.

10

Men are incapable of faking orgasms
False: Actually, studies have shown that as many as a quarter of men have faked it. Sure, ejaculation is pretty hard to fake, but you can simulate movements, moans, and other pleasure signs. If you are curious why some men do this it's for the same reason that women do it. They might want to make their partner feel good, because they are tired, or because they are just having a rough time and they don't want their partner to think it is their fault.

11

Everything from Mountain Dew sodas to tighty whities will kill sperm
False: While there are small amounts of truth to this, for the most part the myth is false. In the case of Mountain Dew, you would need to drink a huge amount of caffeine -- and even then it would lower sperm count not end it altogether. When it comes to things like laptops, things sitting in your lap, or underwear, it's possible for temperature reasons. If your testicles are hotter than the rest of your body (they should be a few degrees cooler) than they might not produce sperm as well as they should.

12

African American men are bigger
True: If you go based on studies, Caucasian men top out at around six inches, while African American men sometimes get as large as eight inches. Caucasian guys don't need to feel bad though because Asian men are smaller, usually topping out between four and five and a half inches. This is just statistical information though. There are actually plenty of men from all races that do not fit into this statistical data. I have met Caucasian men with twelve inch erect penises and African Americans that measure four inches. In the end, size isn't so important that you need to separate yourself by race and size.

13

Men want sex all day long
False: I know it's hard to believe, but men don't want sex all day long. There are usually a few hours that men need some down time. This is normally when they are eating or watching sports. Seriously though, men are humans, too. They don't always think just about sex. They have their ups and downs like everyone else. The funny thing is that it's assumed that men won't say no to sex while women will. Some of this could be the machismo factor, which leads men to not say no, afraid that if they say they aren't in the mood, then they will be deemed less of a man. If you're not in the mood, be honest. Lord knows, you have probably heard the same from your lover.

14

Having a same-sex fantasy makes you a homosexual
Not always true: Having a fantasy about something and going through with it are two entirely different things. Fantasies are a funny thing. You might fantasize about your girlfriend with another man. However, this does not mean you want her to sleep with other guys. The fantasy just sounds appealing and leads you through a hot and exciting sexual encounter. If you have sexual fantasies about being with another man (or another female for you girls reading this) it doesn't mean much of anything.

I know plenty of couples that put this thought in their lover's mind to increase the excitement factor. If you were a homosexual you would actually want a physical relationship with another man and not a woman. If you were bisexual you would have strong sexual feelings for both sexes. In order to be certain that you are a homosexual you would need to explore your emotional feelings towards the same sex, not just the idea of fantasies.
