I've seen a lot about favors. What are they and do I need them?

The wedding expert answers:
The bomboniere (favor) is an Italian tradition. It consists of layered tulle nets with a filling of five almonds that symbolize five blessings (wealth, fertility, happiness etc). They are supposed to be kept and not eaten and used as a thank you gift for guests. You don't have to have favors, but they are a really nice way of creating mementos for your special day and something for guests to take home. This means that you can create favors that are reflective of you as a person or as a couple, or what the theme or style of your wedding is. They also make a reception and your tables look beautiful and guests will be delighted with their special gifts, thanking them for coming to your wedding.
