The app WooPlus proves sexy is a mindset, not a pant size

From SheKnows Canada

A new app has found a solution for plus-size ladies tired of dealing with fat-shaming creeps on Tinder. WooPlus promises to help "BBW (big beautiful women), BHM (big handsome men), plus-size singles and fat admirers" connect with one another by cutting out all those who are too narrow-minded to give people with plus-size figures a chance.

Why is this app so important? Women get fat-shamed by entitled Tinder jerks on the regular, and plenty of us are sick of it. Take Michelle Thomas, whose date wrote her this horrendous 397-word note explaining that he thought she was too heavy to date.

“I'm not going to bull***t you... I f***ing adore you Michelle and I think you're the prettiest looking girl I've ever met," he says. “But my mind gets turned on by someone slimmer." And it goes on and on: “So whilst I am hugely turned on by your mind, your face, your personality (and God...I really, really am), I can't say the same about your figure."

And it gets worse, as he starts explaining, in graphic detail (after only one date, I might add) why he'd never be able to get erect with a woman with Michelle's figure: “So I can sit there and flirt and have the most incredibly fun evening, but I have this awful feeling that when we got undressed my body would let me down."

Thomas wrote an open letter to the man, calling him out for being "nothing short of sadistic."

But the sad truth is that Michelle's experience is not unique — fat-shaming abounds on Tinder. Just take a look at the posts shared on Bye Felipe, a feminist platform that allows women to share their worst experiences on Tinder:

So the fact that there's a dating app catering to people with plus-size bodies and those who love them couldn't be better news given the state of the online dating world.

"The unfortunate reality is that the current dating environment is very cruel to bigger girls," says WooPlus' San Francisco-based CEO Neil Raman to the Mirror. "My sister experienced this herself. It was very painful and unfair. I decided to solve this problem and create an app just for big girls."

"We are committed to proving that human beings are a lot more than their size. And we do so by helping plus size singles have a shot at finding the right kind of companionship," states WooPlus on its website. "So, all you big girls and big guys tired of rejection, WooPlus app offers you a chance to find compatible partners you can befriend, date, have long-term relationships with or even marry."

So what are we waiting for? Let's say goodbye to Tinder creeps forever.
