A sexy book excerpt for any woman who still thinks about a bad boy from her past

Faye hasn't seen the sexy-but-mysterious Dex in a long time… and time has certainly been kind to him. Sure, she's a strong-willed, bad ass woman, but will she be able to tame this Alpha biker?

Read the excerpt from Dragon's Lair by Chantal Fernando:

As I walk to my car, a spring in my step, a man standing next to a gorgeous black Harley stops me in my tracks. He's wearing dark jeans, low on his narrow hips, a black T-shirt, and a battered leather jacket.

I know just who he is.

And I'm seriously surprised to see him. I thought he'd left the city for good.

I'd never forget those piercing blue eyes and thick, dark messy hair.

That smirk.

Those lips.

I haven't seen him in five years. Five years that have been very good to him. In fact, he seems to have gotten even sexier with age.

Dex.

I've had a crush on Dex for as long as I can remember. A silly, childhood crush. He was the local bad boy, but to me he was sweet and patient. Everyone at my school was scared of him, but not me. I knew the real Dex, and he was kind to me, always looking out for me. He might have been rough around the edges, the black sheep of his family, but he was sweet inside.

At least he used to be.

The Dex standing in front of me is all man, nothing boyish left in his appearance.

My heart races as his lips curve into a smile that I know, firsthand, has broken many hearts.

When he left, I was disappointed. He hadn't even said good-bye.

He nods his head at me, a slight imperceptible move. He then starts to walk toward me, his gaze roaming my body, slowly. When he grins and reaches out his hand to me without a word, I don’t think. I just take it. He pulls me into his body for a hug that brings back a million memories. I lay my cheek against the cold leather of his jacket and smile.

"Long time no see," I say, breaking the silence. I inhale deeply, taking in his scent. Something that I will never admit to another person.

"Look at you, all grown up," he says in a low husky voice that gives me shivers. My body is on the curvy side. I have smallish breasts and a narrow waist but flared hips and solid thighs. Oh — and a huge ass. I don't like it, but the way he is staring at me lets me know that he does.

He likes what he sees.

A heck of a lot.

And it makes me feel good. Confident.

"I could say the same," I reply breathlessly, boldly checking him out. Is that an eight-pack under there? I want to let my hands wander over his stomach to feel what’s there.

If only.

His laugh is throaty. "Like what you see, do you?"
