Conversation starters that will take your relationship to new heights

No matter how long you've been married, there's always room to learn more about each other and become an even stronger, more united couple.

When you feel like you already know everything you could possibly know about your significant other, it becomes increasingly difficult to come up with good questions to ask each other — questions that are creative enough to spark debate and possibly even teach each other something new, but that don't seem forced or corny.

"Questions get stale sometimes, but you need to create positive emotional drama," says dating and relationship expert Hunt Ethridge, who is the co-founder and senior partner of International Dating Coach Association and LiveDatingAdvice.com. "What this means is just to inject some emotion or unpredictability into your relationship and to keep it from becoming stagnant."

Ethridge weighed in with 20 fantastic questions that will get you talking:

1. What's the best meal you've ever eaten? ("This answer will usually be surrounded by other good memories.")

2. If you could go alone for a one-week paid vacation to do anything on earth, what would it be?

3. What animal do you think would look the best plaid? ("Non sequiturs are always good because they can be fun and different.")

4. Tell me an embarrassing story from high school or college.

5. If you could be an artist, what medium would you work in and why?

6. In a hypothetical world, what would our future children's jobs be?

7. When was the last time someone, other than me, praised you? ("Praise is the strongest of positive emotions.")

8. If you had to do one thing for 24 hours straight, what would it be?

9. What's a sexual fantasy that you never got to experience?

10. OK, no judgement zone! Tell me about a fun or hot hook-up experience you had in the past! ("Warning: This can be fun if you have a good relationship. If it's tenuous, maybe steer away from it.")

11. If you had to spend $1000 on something completely frivolous, what would it be?

12. What do you wish you could still do that isn't socially acceptable for an adult?

13. Have you ever had something happen to you that you couldn't explain?

14. If you could have a redo on your youth, what's something you'd do differently?

15. Do you remember the best day you had ever?

16. What school assignment did you absolutely kick ass on?

17. What are you better at than most people realize?

18. Who would play you in the movie of your life and why?

19. Who would play me?

20. What was the happiest I ever made you?

21. What's one thing you didn't notice at first but have grown to love about me?

22. Tell me about the things you want to accomplish for yourself in the next six months.

23. What's your favorite memory of your mom/dad? Why is it so special?

24. How can I make your day/week better?

25. What's your favorite way that I initiate sex? (What's my best 'move')?

With hope, that last question will leave little room for more questions.
