Eva vibrator designed by female engineers for the ultimate couple experience

What would a vibrator designed by women, exclusively for women look like? Would it have wings? Would it be pink and sparkly? Or would it be small and perfect, something designed to get the job done in a quick and intimate manner? The new vibrator Eva answers all of these questions and more.

Designed by MIT-educated engineer Janet Lieberman and sex therapist Alexandra Fine, Eva looks more like a beetle than a bullet or a rabbit and is much smaller than the penis-looking vibrators one might find in a typical sex shop.

The whole design of Eva is actually not meant to be used alone (although it can be). It is meant to be shared with a partner. It has wings that fit beneath the woman's labia and hold the vibrator in place giving her partner access to her vagina. The whole thing is pretty spectacular. See below:

"Over and over I was hearing friends complain about trying to get clitoral stimulation from regular sex toys," Fine told SheKnows. She'd been studying to be a sex therapist, but decided to shift her focus toward making sex toys instead. And that's when she met Lieberman.

The two women bring a unique perspective to the sex toy market and have a partnership that works very well, Fine says. She'd designed something that looked like a coin with a vibrator taped to it. It worked, but once she teamed up with Lieberman who was also planning to start a vibrator company, the design really took off.

One of the things that sets Dame Products (and Eva) apart is the way it is marketed. Fine says she is not interested in shaming women who don't orgasm vaginally or who have trouble reaching climax every time. Roughly 70 percent of women need clitoral stimulation to reach orgasm. But more than that, orgasm isn't needed every time.

"A lot of men see the orgasm to be the be all, end all," says Fine who has been put off by sex toy ads that play on women's insecurities about not having "enough" orgasms. "I am having the perfect amount of orgasms."

And what does that mean?

That means a sex toy that allows partners to look into each other's eyes. It means a sex toy that stays in place and offers three different speeds and intensity levels for women who prefer a bit more or a bit less. It's a completely hands-free experience, which means partners are able to be together instead of trying to cram an awkward toy in between them.

They are also concerned with how the product comes across.

"We are trying to create a space that feels not too sexy and also not too medicalized," Fine says. Also: "We are also really concerned with how we talk to men."

The truth is, not all men love the idea of their partner needing a little extra help reaching climax. It might feel insulting or demeaning. "Men are so split," Fine says. "I'll talk to some really liberal [men] who still feel marginalized by the idea of a sex toy in the bedroom."

As a woman, it might be easy for me to say get over it, dude. After all, I know the work involved to get a woman to climax. But this vibrator strikes a really nice balance since it allows men to be part of the whole thing.

In short, it's revolutionary. The company sent me a tester and I can vouch for it with 100 percent certainty. This is the best sex toy I've tried (and I've tried most). For a woman who wants to explore new heights with her partner, this is the way to go. Designed by women, for women. Perfect.
