From ghosts to roller coasters there are plenty of creative ways to propose.
marriage proposal

If you're planning on popping the question this Valentine's Day then why not try a proposal that won't be forgotten. We've all heard of restaurant and parkland proposals, so make yours stand out with an unusual twist on the most romantic moment of your life.

The great outdoors

If nature is what warms her heart, then you cannot beat a romantic trip to Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory. Rambling gorges, rocky hills and sprawling land (not to mention the occasional crocodile) will surely impress.

You can plan your own trip (visit the Kakadu website for official information about passes, weather and other need-to-know information about the park) or join a professional tour like Kakadu Dreams.

If, however, you want to go deep down underground then you must consider the Jenolan Caves in NSW's Blue Mountains. You can get down on one knee by flickering light, sparkling natural crystals and amazing spiked formations.

The adrenalin junkie

Although your heart will already be racing, get the girl of your dreams to scream and shout from a high octane adrenalin ride.

If she is a lover of amusement parks, plan a weekend away to the Gold Coast and pop the question at one its action-filled attractions. Dreamworld has the notorious Giant Drop that will take you 119 metres high. As you're being pulled into the sky have someone unveil a poster way below asking that all important question.

If you want a bit of Hollywood glam, then why not propose at Movieworld? Send her soaring on the Green Lantern Coaster just before asking her to be your wife.

If you prefer the classic carnival feel of Luna Park, then head to Melbourne or Sydney where you can enjoy the fun of their water-view roller coasters.

Spooky scenes

Maybe your perfect proposal setting is dark and ghoulish, with your loved one clinging on tight? If so, then find your nearest ghost tour and get your fright on.

The Rocks at Sydney is known for it's history and cobblestoned laneways. The team at Ghost Tours The Rocks promises you a night of spooky thrills and says, "With lanterns in hand, follow your Ghost Host on a mysterious journey behind locked gates into the hidden area of the Rocks. This is not for the fainthearted. As the grisly tales unfold you may encounter the former residents face to face."
