3 Ways to spend Valentine's Day with your girlfriends

Here's to a girls' night Valentine's

From SheKnows Canada
Not having a special someone in your life this February doesn't mean you can't have just as special a Valentine's Day as all the couples out there. This year, forget about pairing off, and just have a great time with your best girlfriends.

Here's to a girls' night Valentine's

A night on the town

The restaurant and party scene might be slightly dominated by couples on Feb. 14, but that doesn't mean you can't have a fun night out with your BFFs! On the contrary — you're spending the evening with some of the people who know you best, and that's a great gift. To make it extra special, meet up at one of your homes to get ready, and have a few drinks together. That way you can help one another get all glammed up before you hit the town. Where you go is completely up to you, but whatever you do, don't hold back. Did a fancy new restaurant just open up that you'd all like to try out? Make a reservation! Is there a favourite quiet pub you've been missing? Go there! This is your night to have fun with your girlfriends and see the city together however you choose, so have a blast arranging an evening that's ideal for all of you.

A slumber party

Remember those good old days when you'd sit in your pyjamas with your best friends, watching movies, eating junk food and chatting about anything and everything until the wee hours of the morning? Those were some fun times that are worth reliving this Feb. 14. After all, back then, boys were barely on your radar, and it was your girlfriends who truly mattered, so it's fitting that you spend this Valentine's Day with your BFFs in same way. Feel free to include one grown-up addition: alcoholic beverages. Pour a few Champagne cocktails or tangy margaritas, curl up on the couch in front of a quality chick flick most men scoff at, and enjoy the pleasure of one another's company.

A day of new things

Unlike other holidays, when everything but restaurants are closed, every place you could possibly want to go is open on Valentine's Day, so take advantage. When you spend time with your friends, you don't have to worry about the romance that's supposed to go along with Feb. 14, so your options are endless. Ask each girlfriend to come up with one activity she's always wanted to do but has been too nervous to try out on her own. Have you always wanted to try wall climbing but don't know if you can handle the heights? Has taking a swing dancing class been on your list for years? Perhaps it's trying Moroccan food that's been tantalizing your curiosity? By having each friend come up with one activity she wants to try with the support of all of you, you'll put together a day that'll be full of cool new experiences — and a day you'll never forget! By the end of it, you'll be living proof you don't need a man to have a fun on Valentine's Day!
