Listen to yourself this week and count all the times you point out the negative in the positive. Maybe it's a deflating remark when a loved one gushes on about something, a word of warning when a friend gets excited about her prospects, or it's poking holes in your spouse's latest dream project. You think you're being the voice of reason, but what's reasonable about taking the air out of somebody's tires? Obviously you don't wish anyone ill. If anything, you want the best. However, it's time to re-examine this knee-jerk reaction. You're coming across as a downer.
