Using Another's Pregnancy To Deceive
Yikes: An increasing number of pregnant women are turning to Craigslist to make a quick buck — with their positive pregnancy tests.
Want to "get your boyfriend to finally pop the question"?
Some women on Craigslist have the answer: Buy their pregnancy tests! Apparently, it's a growing trend. According to The Daily Dot, an increasing number of women are offering their positive pregnancy tests to anyone willing to plunk down $25–$30.
Of course, no questions are asked.
"Ever since I became pregnant, I have been asked numerous times for a positive test, so I decided to start charging for it!" one Buffalo, New York, woman wrote on CL. "I will take the test the same day you want to pick it up! I don't care what you use it for, not my business."
The only real thing we can assume is that the buyers are trying to accomplish something, like a proposal. At least one Texas woman admits to wanting a positive pregnancy test to get back at a cheating husband.
"I'm so done with him and angry and don't want him back but would like the last laugh out of this," the poster wrote.
While we know there's a seller for every buyer, this just seems like an incredibly terrible idea. Getting a little bit of innocent revenge is one thing, but entrapping your boyfriend in marriage because of a pregnancy?
We watch enough soap operas to know these sort of plots never work out.
