Make your mark

Sometimes one of the hardest parts of dating is that initial flirting exchange with someone we think we may be interested in. Flirting should be fun, but sometimes it's very overwhelming. It can be easier though -- here are a few tips to get you started.

Couple flirting at coffee shop

We all know flirting is meant to be playful and romantic -- how else would the other person be enticed to get to know you better? But is there a secret to grabbing someone's attention?

Smile

Smiling makes us prettier, but it also lights up our face, and even changes the way we speak!

Make eye contact

Listen to what the other person is saying and make sure to come across as interested. Everyone wants to feel like someone is paying attention to them.

Go solo

It's easy to be intimidating when we move in packs -- someone will be much more likely to approach you when you are on your own. Break away from the pack since most people feel intimidated approaching a group to talk to someone.

Laughing is fun

Don't take yourself too seriously! Make sure to laugh at their jokes, and also be comfortable enough to make a few of your own.

Single him out

If he has cute friends, leave them for YOUR friends. Nothing is going to turn a guy off more than if you start flirting with his wingmen; he won't think you are into him (or worse)!
