This quote comes to us from the Irish playwright Samuel Beckett. It perfectly describes the persistence to persevere in the face of overwhelming odds. And it’s not by choice, but by the fact that there is no choice. It’s very heavy, solemn, and Saturn — which is the planet responsible for you feeling like you’re slogging through the mire. But it’s important to remember that success is 95 percent showing up. The fact that you will keep on going on when others have thrown up their hands in despair ensures that yours will be the first foot to cross the finish line.
You’re not really a builder; you’re more of a doer. Nevertheless, it might be a good idea to switch mental caps on Friday when you’re asked to take on a floundering project or to turn around an underperforming department. Approach this problem with the mindset of a student rather than the person with the answers and you’ll benefit from the experience. Not only will you discover that you really can build things from the ground up, but you’ll be introduced to talents you never thought you had.
You need to stop, look, and listen. You’re still playing by the old set of rules at work while everyone else has moved on. Now it’s hard to see this because you’re so focused on trying to prove yourself and to do what’s right. But what happens at times like these is you can wind up grasping at straws and coming across as desperate. Take a chill pill on the 24th. Sit back and take in what colleagues are saying and you will soon be back in sync.
Life at work is bound to be awkward given the recent behind-the-scenes skirmishes that took place. Everyone knows that there was an attempt to push you out and that this didn’t come to fruition. You may feel like you have to prove yourself or do something to please and appease, but don’t — because you won the battle. Treat life at the office like business as usual. If anyone should be hugging the shadows these days it’s those critics who were proven wrong about you.
There’s no shame in admitting that you are in over your head. The real question is: what are you going to do about it? This isn’t the time to retreat into your shell. You are surrounded by a number of people who are willing to help you out of your bind. And if they can’t help you, then they can put you in touch with people who can. But you have to ask. Nobody’s a mind reader and you are an expert at covering your tracks.
Pressing concerns at home on the 25th will require that you drop what you’re doing and tend to them immediately. This is something that is manageable and you should be able to take care of it without any complications. However the fallout from an inconvenienced employer or client will be disproportionate to what the occasion warrants. You don’t have to explain or justify anything. What you will have to do, however, is redraw the boundaries so that he or she respects them. Someone’s gotten a little too presumptuous lately.
A sensational sextile between Mercury and Jupiter on the 23rd shows you receiving a ringing endorsement. What’s surprising is that it comes from someone you were certain didn’t like you. It only goes to show that just because someone is competitive with you in the workplace doesn’t mean they are unaware of your talents and abilities. If anything, they’re probably more appreciative of what you do than a “supportive” manager. This is something you will discover on the 26th when this person weighs in with a lackluster recommendation.
Everyone knows that you deserve to make more money, but making them feel guilty about it won’t help your cause. Right now your company is experiencing a serious cash-flow problem. It’s not the sort of thing higher-ups talk about openly, so it makes sense to meet privately with your supervisor to see what’s going on. Be sympathetic and understanding and he’ll bring you up to speed. He’ll also be able to give you a more realistic time frame of when to ask for a raise and for how much.
This is a week of soul searching. If you feel like you’ve gone as far as you can go on your career path then start exploring other routes. Don’t let worries about paying bills get in the way of doing something you’ve longed to do. Those costs don’t begin to compare to the price you’ll pay for never having pursued a dream. If you like where you are then get more serious about your future. There’s so much more you can accomplish if you’d only pull out the stops.
Take it easy this week. The lunar eclipse on Thursday shows the bottom dropping out and it will be all you can do just to make it through the workday. Moderate your pace and you’ll emerge on the other side of this no worse for wear. Meanwhile the temporary lull gets you to revisit an old plan or idea on the 23rd. You may find that there was something to this after all. Repackage it and present anew next week. You’ll find at least two potential buyers.
There’s a price to pay for getting ahead and you’ll be looking at it on Thursday. Study the particulars because Saturn conjunct the lunar eclipse shows that you’re looking at a Faustian Bargain. Faustian bargains are those deals you make with the devil in times of panic or pique. You may find that you don’t need this. The slow route is more arduous, but it will take you where you want to go — plus you’ll still have a soul to call your own at the end of the day.
The lunar eclipse on Thursday lowers the boom on a business venture. You had every reason to believe in your success and it surely would have happened if you were being told the truth. Unfortunately, colleagues weren’t being straightforward and/or accountants were inflating the numbers. In any case it’s clear that you weren’t anywhere near where you needed to be. It would be nice if you could fire them all (and you would if you could), but there’s nothing to be done about it... yet.
After much hemming and hawing it looks like you’ll stick with what you have. You were born under Jupiter — the “anywhere but here” planet. This is the part of you that’s always falling in love with the grass that’s greener on the other side of the fence. However, a closer examination of the ground beneath your feet shows that it’s a lot more verdant than you think. In fact you’re on the brink of one of the greatest growth cycles ever. That is — if you stay put.
