Banking

If money and finances are a passion of yours, consider a career in banking. The beauty of working for a bank is you can move around until you find something you truly enjoy. The options are endless — from management to working in the corporate office. Another plus is you can start as a teller without a degree and work your way up via certifications and licensing.

Event planning

If you live for throwing parties and organizing different events amongst your family and friends, a career in event planning is for you. Two huge bonuses — you can work for yourself, if you choose, and the career really is what you make of it. The more you advertise yourself and get yourself out there, the more successful you will be. A career in writing or editing is another career choice where you have full control over your salary and advancement. These careers are what you make of them. Start by writing or editing for a company, then branch out from there. As you gain more and more experience, you can apply for positions with bigger, more well-known companies and ask for more money. Another option is to freelance on the side. This allows for an extra stream of income, plus the opportunity to choose who you will work for and what type of work you do, along with what you will charge.

Nursing

Any job in the medical field will have room to grow and advance. The medical field is ever-changing and ever-growing. Though a career in nursing does require a degree, it’s one that will never go to waste. There are hundreds of different types of nurses — from pediatric and school nurses to trauma and ambulatory care nurses. You can also continue your education in nursing and become a nurse anesthesiologist — where salaries average $120,000 per year, the highest of any other nurse.
