Spring break travel
Can you see it? That’s the sun coming out of hibernation! Celebrate the start to warmer weather with a beachside spring break vacation.
Napili Kai Beach Resort
Napili Kai Beach Resort is timeless Hawaii. Located on the island of Maui, the 50-year-old resort is a popular spring break travel destination for couples. Romantic and unpretentious, its 10 beachside acres of tropical gardens are located on one of Maui’s most famed snorkeling bays. There’s a calendar of free events, like Mai Tai parties and lei-making and hula lessons, as well as morning coffee, tea, lemonade and fresh pineapple. Napili Kai is a place to completely unwind, but if you’re feeling truly adventurous, try your hand at shuffleboard, croquet or bocce ball. Otherwise, kick back and enjoy some quality time with the surf and sand.
Loews Miami Beach Hotel
Located in South Beach’s Historic Art Deco District, Loews Miami Beach Hotel is a sprawling oceanfront retreat. Its 900-foot white sandy beach is ripe for watersport enthusiasts, with easy access to activities like kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing and snorkeling. The pet- and family-friendly hotel is great for all ages, but April 26-28, Loews Miami Beach will cater to the ladies with the 4th Annual Ultimate Girlfriends’ Getaway Weekend. So head to South Beach for three days and two nights of pampering, and enjoy fitness classes, shopping at pop-up boutiques, complimentary mixology lessons and more.
The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa
Away from the neon lights of the strip, The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa isn’t your typical Sin City getaway. Here, your vacation is more about relaxation than revelry. There’s a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and Asian-fusion restaurant serving up fine sushi alongside 15 different types of sake. And at the Moroccan-inspired Spa Moulay, even happy hour is calming, with specials on 50- and 75-minute treatments. But this is a lakeside beach resort, after all, and The Westin Lake Las Vegas doesn’t disappoint. Take advantage of aquatic adventures like stand-up paddleboarding, fly fishing and romantic gondola rides.
Surf & Sand Resort
Laguna Beach’s Surf & Sand Resort is a quintessential Southern California hotel with a design that’s a blend of laidback coastal style and sun-washed Mediterranean charm. Its beach vibe extends past the waterfront pool — which was completely renovated in 2010 — and into other amenities, like the Aquaterra Spa that focuses on the therapeutic properties of the ocean and local botanicals. A seasonal menu at Surf & Sand’s signature restaurant, Splashes, has a light and fresh menu to match the resort’s personality. For spring break travel, the resort is hosting a series of special activities like beach boot camp and children’s art classes.
The San Luis Resort
The San Luis Resort is a 30-acre hotel on Galveston Island, Texas, an area home to more than 30 miles of sun-drenched beaches and historic sites. Kick back and take in the magnificent views of the Gulf of Mexico from the swim-up bar or grotto-style hot tub. Then come back to the pool after sunset for nightlife at its bar, which features sushi, wine by the glass and thirst-quenching martinis. In the morning melt away last night’s memories at Spa San Luis with a Coco-Mango Body Polish or Detoxifying Body Mask. Though not directly on the ocean, The San Luis Resort is within walking distance of the beach.
