Lake Norman

Lake Tahoe

Straddling California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe (above) is the second deepest lake in the US and boasts water clarity of 70 feet. Summer water temps of 65 to 70 degrees don’t faze local swimmers, who flock to the crystal-clear lake for swimming, boating, fishing and paddle boarding. With 72 miles of shoreline, you’re bound to find your perfect summer spot.

One of the most beautiful lakes I have every visited is Norris Lake in the Foothills of the Cumberland & Smokey Mountains.

Looks like the author of this article hasn't been to these places. Tahoe should certainly come in above #10.

Such a wonderful article with lots of informative lake information! Once every summer I drag the kids away from the swimming pool and take them to the nearest lake. The natural beauty of a large body of water blows them away. I grew up on a lake so these trips are like being back home for me.
