Alaska is one of the last frontiers and you can explore a beautiful piece of it when you stay at Orca Island Cabins. Situated on Humpy Cove, just south of Anchorage, there are only five cabins on this island, so you’ll have it almost all to yourself. You’ll have the beautiful wilderness on one side of your cabin and the bright blue sea on the other. Your private cabin is equipped with everything you need for your stay, and your deck overlooks the water. You’ll need to take a long drive from the airport and a water taxi to reach the island, so getting there may be an adventure in itself. While there, kayak, whale watch and check out the wildlife on the island or take a water taxi to a nearby trail for a hiking adventure in the great Alaskan outdoors.
Take a rafting trip on the Colorado River for an adventure you’ll never forget. Take a trip as short as two days or as long as week, with just the two of you or in a large group. You can dine together on the banks of the river, sleep cuddled up under the stars and wake up to the sound of rushing water and sight of the sun rising over the mountains.
Are your favorite destinations the beach-bound kind? Then St. Thomas is the perfect adventure vacation for you. Need a day to just relax? Treat yourself to the spa and then sit by the ocean. Plus, the Virgin Islands are a territory of the United States, so you don’t need a passport.

If you’re not afraid to go far for your adventure, the Zambezi may be just the place for you. This river is the longest east-flowing river in Africa and it’s packed with adventure from beginning to end. The most famous point of the river is Victoria Falls, where you’ll find the wettest and wildest white water rafting in the world. Above the falls, you’ll find kayaking, boat tours, river cruises, canoeing and water floating. You’ll also spot some amazing wildlife in this area, including elephants, crocodiles, hippos and lions.
Charles Darwin made this place famous for bird watching and there is a lot of that to do. Fortunately, there’s tons more to do on these islands off South America. A hike will not only let you view more species of birds than there are anywhere else, but you'll also find iguanas and other wildlife. Take a dip in the water and swim with penguins, sea lions, sea turtles and tons of tropical fish. Book a cruise that spends a day there or make this place your whole vacation.
There’s a ton to do in the Smoky Mountains, from shopping to seeing a show or going for a hike. If you’re looking for a ton of adventure, try ziplining. Nothing says adventure like flying through the treetops at 40 miles per hour, right? The ziplines in the Smokies consist of 18 lines and end with a long rapel out of the trees. You’ll spend a total of three hours sailing through the treetops.
