DIY working book clock

Claire is an aspiring nutritionist (and soon to be culinary student) with a serious addiction to bacon, wine, goat cheese and online shopping. She is recently married to a social media guru who loves *almost* everything she conjures up. ...

Make a one-of-a-kind timepiece with old books

If you're like me, you probably have shelves, boxes and closets full of old books. Although they are nice to stack on a trendy bookshelf, too many books can start to look cluttered. Instead of storing them in closets and bedrooms hoarder-style, create one-of-a-kind clocks using your favorite worn and torn novels!

Step 4: Trace out book-page hearts to go over the hole

Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter or a stencil, trace out the shape on a ripped-out page of the book.

Cut the heart out of the book page and place it over the exposed part of the clock movement.

Step 5: Put together the rest of the clock

Using the pieces provided to you by the clock movement kit, put together the rest of the clock, including the hour, minute and second hands.

Step 6: Add battery and display!

Insert a AA battery to the back of the clock movement, shut the book and display on your mantel, bookshelf or table!

Finished craft

Now you have a whole new way to display old books and tell time simultaneously.
