Keeping on track and in style

As we inaugurate 2011, it’s time to reassess goals, start planning new adventures, and decide how this upcoming year will be even better than the last. As old-fashioned as it may sound, I find that that the best way to start is with a calendar! I, probably like most of you, use a digital calendar to keep on track. But there is nothing like having a desk calendar right in your line of site while working. Of course it helps if this calendar fits your taste and style…it is always important to surround yourself with things that inspire you.

Do-it yourself or turn to the experts for 2011 calander designs:

Cute & Pretty

Paper Source is one of my favorite go-to stationery shops! I love to browse their selection especially around this time of the year because the store always has a unique selection of calendars that I can't seem to find anywhere else. This mini desk calendar and Letterpress Desk Calendar are two of my favorites.

Perpetually in Style

Perpetual calendars have that name for a reason! They can be used over and over each year. I love this sleek sculptural calendar by Enzo Marie and his 1967 Timor Calendar for a more retro look.

Conscious Calendars

If your New Year's resolution is to become more eco-friendly, choose this playful desk calendar made from 100% recycled paper. The calendar comes with a reclaimed wood block holder. Another option for an organic look is this small, hand-made desk calendar. Each page is made from sustainably harvested birch, walnut, and Douglas Fir.

Old-World Charm

If your desk is always a mess, you have a choice - Cavallini makes wall and desk calendars! They are charming and reminiscent of days gone by. Cavallini designs their products from 19th-century prints. As a self-respecting design enthusiast and lover of everything French, I have to choose the Parisian scenes calendar as one of my favorites. On the other hand, the Sweet Treats calendar reminds me that it's okay to break a resolution from time to time.

DIY

For the creative type, the new year is always a good time to refresh your creative energy! Use a calendar kits to get a head start!
