Getaway Snapshots

There's plenty to do and see on this idyllic island, and SheKnows offers this weekend getaway snapshot of Bermuda's six most memorable sights.

St. George

Step into Bermuda's historic past with a walking tour of St. George, the island's first capital settled by shipwrecked British settlers in 1609. Unlike the bustling, modern city of Hamilton, with its upscale shops and restaurants, St. George's colonial streets are cobble stoned and lined with quaint shops and eateries. Take a cheeky photo in the pillory and stocks in the parish center's King's Square. Then visit Town Hall (free admission), which houses a replica of the queen's crown and portraits of former dignitaries adorning the cedar walls.

Ooops! That's a photo of Hamilton, our Capital city, not St George.
