One of the most difficult tasks during the holidays is finding the perfect gift for a family member who doesn't know my name or remember I am married to her son. Consider purchasing tickets to a local high school's theatre and concert programs through out the school year. Recently, we took my mother-in-law to a high school musical production. She loved the music and the dance numbers. And, high school performances are inexpensive and offered throughout the community.

3. After-school rehearsals

Similarly, another gift suggestion is to contact the local school theatre director and ask about attending previews or even after-school rehearsals. It offers a convenient, safe, climate-controlled activity. For family members struggling with memory impairment, a routine is important. Attending rehearsals offers an inexpensive, easily accessible activity and social interaction.

They prefer DVDs and have learned how to create an online list of their favorite movies and televisions shows. Netflix movies are delivered to their home and includes a pre-paid envelope for easy returns.
