For summer fun or after school

Create fun fruit slice sandwiches in just minutes. They are light and airy for outdoor summer fun, and it's easy to prepare the ingredients ahead of time.

Use colorful, sliced fruit or berries to fill these delightful dessert sandwiches. Just slice and wash fruit ahead of time, and then store in Ziploc storage bags until you're ready to construct and serve.

Ingredients:

  • Colorful fruit
  • Fresh whipped cream
  • Pound cake
  • Ziploc storage bags
  • Toothpicks
  • Small circular cookie cutter

Directions:

Wash fruit and slice. Place in Ziploc storage bags and keep in fridge.
This will minimize prep time right before serving.

Select bright fruit for an eye-catching effect.

Cut pound cake into even slices. Using a circle cookie cutter, create small circles.

Keep in plastic storage bags as well.

Right before serving, place fruit and a dollop of fresh whipped cream onto pound cake circle.
Top with another circle of pound cake, and secure with a toothpick.
These are easily served at the pool, on picnics or after school.
