How to turn your Pinterest into your wedding registry

From cakes to locations to dresses, pinboards can provide ample inspiration for your pending nuptials. Now, thanks to MyRegistry.com, you can even pin together your gift registry. MyRegistry allows you to compile your registry from literally any website and share it with your guests. The MyRegistry Pinterest add-on lets you easily add items found on Pinterest to your registry. Below are four easy steps to make the most of these two great wedding-planning tools.

Step 1: Create your free registry at MyRegistry.com

Visit MyRegistry.com to create a free wedding registry in a matter of seconds. You can sign up with an email address or through your Facebook account in just a few clicks.

Step 2: Install the Pinterest add-on

Once you’ve created your registry, find the “Add Gifts” menu at the top of the screen and select “Add Gifts from Pinterest.” The add-on is currently available for Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari only, so make sure you’re using one of these browsers. Click the “Get the Add-On for Pinterest” button and your browser will pretty much do the rest!

Step 3: Start pinning!

You’re all set! Log into Pinterest and you’ll see an “Add to MyRegistry” button when you hover over each pin. Click this just as you would to repin something, add any notes in the MyRegistry window that appears, click add and you’re done! The pin will appear in your MyRegistry gift list.

Step 4: Import Existing Pins

But what about the countless gifts you pinned before knowing about MyRegistry? Not to worry; you may have noticed that on the “Add Gifts from Pinterest” page MyRegistry offers an option to import any existing pins from your account. Just copy and paste your Pinterest user URL (e.g., pinterest.com/sheknows/) and click “Find Pinboards” to browse and select pins from all your pinboards. Happy pinning!
