If you have a pine tree in your yard, start by searching for pine cones. Cones of all shapes and sizes are ideal for creating natural garlands or wreaths. Branches from your pine tree (or branches clipped off at your local tree lot) are a perfect free foundation to an evergreen wreath. Evergreen branches are also nice greenery for a holiday floral bouquet, whether the bouquet is fresh or dried.

Evergreen branches also make beautiful sprays, which are even easier to build on your own than a wreath. Take a walk in the woods looking for young branches. Take tree branches (like birch or dogwood) and bundle them together with an evergreen branch or two. Add twigs with juniper or holly berries and tie the spray together with florist's wire. Add a bow and display these all natural decorations on banisters or on the front door. No one will ever know that all the ingredients for your decor came from your own yard and garden!
