Use old dishes and pans to build a hangout for feathered friends.

A birdbath can add a beautiful focal point to your garden or backyard. Birds are also lots of fun to watch, especially when you're watching them enjoy themselves somewhere other than eating from your garden. Birds are also lots of fun to watch, especially when you're watching them enjoy themselves somewhere other than eating from your garden. Give your local birds a place to congregate and drink with a birdbath made from recycled materials.

I came across this inspirational idea on RecycleScene, and what I love about it is that you can make a birdbath out of just about anything you have in your house. If it's deep enough to hold water, it can be a birdbath!  Just think about the items you could use---old cake or pie plates, old dishware, old planter pots, even old plastic containers...

You also have options. If you want a pedestal birdbath, you can repurpose a tree stump or wide pvc piping, or you can make a simpler ledge birdbath that sits on your garden wall. Take a look at what you have to work with and have some fun arranging the pieces to create a birdbath. Use ceramic glue to attach the pieces, then leave them natural for an eclectic display, or paint the pieces new colors to disguise their recycled roots.
