Aniston Makes Home Design A Hobby
When Jennifer Aniston’s not making headlines with blockbuster movies or for her closely scrutinized love life, she’s been known to dabble in real estate. The mega-watt star recently purchased a Manhattan penthouse from celebrity stylist Sally Hershberger. She also just sold her large Beverly Hills estate for an impressive price tag. Here’s a peek at the Horrible Bosses star’s new digs, as well as the space she’ll be leaving.
Check out SheKnows' interview with Aniston as she opens up about her role in Horrible Bosses >> Back to the Big AppleAccording to the NY Daily News, the former Friends star purchased two one-bedroom units on the 17th and 18th floors of a West Village building that she plans on combining to make a 2,700-square-foot duplex. The more expensive penthouse unit belonged to celeb hairstylist Sally Hershberger. Hershberger, who opened up her home to Elle Décor last year, described her vision for the space: "I wanted it to be comfortable yet modern, with a smidge of color."
Take a look at the living room, where the stylist uses a large painting by Joseph La Piana as the focal point of the area. She also utilizes a collage of pictures over the bed in the master bedroom -- a Herb Ritts photograph of the Dalai Lama's hands is at the center.
The highlight of the apartment is actually outside -- a gorgeous 900-square-foot terrace with views of the city, including the Empire State Building. Good-bye 90210We suspect her blossoming relationship with actor Justin Theroux, who calls the city home, probably helped Aniston decide to make the move east. The actress put her Beverly Hills estate on the market earlier this year and it recently sold for somewhere in the neighborhood of $38 million, according to the LA Times.
Find out if Jennifer Aniston is playing house with her new boyfriend here >> Aniston reportedly spent two years renovating the 10,000-square-foot home, which boasts two living rooms, two kitchens, a gym, five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool, a spa, ponds, fountains, an alfresco living room, fireplaces and another kitchen. From the entryway to the living areas, the house was designed around a Hawaiian-inspired theme. The stonework and tropical plants help add to that feel and bear a resemblance to many island resorts.
The kitchen includes a wood-burning pizza oven and glass-enclosed wine cooler that would have most avid cooks swooning.
The master bedroom has a platform bed, and the master bath touts a dressing area fit for a star. We can't wait to see what Aniston dreams up for her new space in the city.
