Green design is a hot topic right now. Even companies that have never been thought of as “environmentally conscious” are making a real, concerted effort to create and design products that are more environmentally sound and incorporate eco-friendly materials into their designs.

Studio Aisslinger

This innovative German firm, based in Berlin, has been most recently praised for its ingenious "hemp chair." The chair, which was part of a project funded by a German chemical company, has lightweight features with a strong composite. The other major benefit to constructing furniture in this way is that is doesn't give off any byproducts except water, meaning that both the chair and the construction process are both eco-friendly and organic.
