Who knew pickles could be just the thing you need to add rustic charm to your home?

If there are two things I unequivocally and irrevocably love, they're pickles and HGTV. Throw any veggie in some salty brine and there is a 100 percent chance I will eat it. Can you blame me? Now, any true pickle lover knows the brine that gives pickles their delicious flavor is full of salt. But vinegar and lemon juice are usually found in the brine as well. All of these brine ingredients also seem to pop up in a number of popular online tutorials on how to give copper a patina effect. Thanks, Chip and Joanna, for bestowing upon us this simple hack that will surely save any patina-loving DIYer a whole lot of time, money and stress.
