Ideas to help you entertain all winter

We love to entertain all year long, and if you do too, be sure to check out these 12 great entertaining ideas for (almost) every room in your home.

Kitchen

Kitchen

The kitchen is the hub of every home and is one of the more frequent places to entertain. You can help your kitchen be a little more guest-friendly this winter by adding a few fun and useful elements to your space such as this weatherworn-looking Palermo Tray (Crate and Barrel, $50). Be sure to use a set of pretty Organic Snowflake All Over Pattern Block Print Tea Towels (Abes Market, $18) and serve your appetizers or treats on a beautiful Nambe Currents Serving Platter in Winter Snow (Gibson USA Outlet, $59).

Family room

Family Room

From casual family movie nights to an all-out game night with friends, it is important to keep your guests feeling welcome, warm and comfortable when entertaining in your family room. Be sure your family room is fully stocked with items such as this Perry Faux Fur Throw (Pottery Barn, $60) for warmth, Locus Floor Pillows (Urban Outfitters, $69) to add extra seating simply and this Threshold Geometric Log Bin with Tools in Antique Iron (Target, $63). Your guests will be able to keep warm next to your fire or with a blanket, plus you will have plenty of seating for everyone.

Outdoor

Outdoor

Even if it is cold outside, that does not mean that you can only entertain indoors. With the proper items, you can have a successful outdoor party even in the winter. Be sure to include items such as this Waterproof Outdoor Blanket (L.L. Bean, $46), this pretty CobraCo Round Bravo Fire Pit with Screen and Cover (Casa, $163) and a few of these Comfo-Back Adirondack Chairs in Scarlet Red (Adirondack Chairs Only, $355) so that you can entertain guests outside — and stay warm — no matter the temperature.

Dining room

Dining Room

For a more formal gathering, the dining room can offer a wonderful place to entertain and feed your closest guests this winter. From a simple meal to a multi-course feast, the dining room is a wonderful way to entertain this year. Adorn your table with this Tweed Dark Brown Linen with Burnt Orange Border Runner (CB2, $169), add a few Snowflake Napkin Rings (World Market, $12) and be sure to serve your delicious food on fun Winter Cardinal dishes (Target, $80) to entertain and feed your guests in style this winter.
