Dr. Seuss

If you're looking for a colorful, whimsical theme for a bookish mom-to-be, then a Dr. Seuss theme is the way to go. Kara Allen, founder of Kara's Party Ideas, recommends displaying as many Dr. Seuss books as possible during the shower. "You can also gather brightly colored silk flowers and plants," she says. "Another fun idea: Spread pink pom-poms all over your table, making it look like it's covered in Horton Hears A Who flowers. Colorful feathers and faux fur are also fun 'Seussy' party decorations."

Another Dr. Seuss theme to consider is "Thing One and Thing Two" -- perfect for parents who are expecting twins! Décor options include a red, white and turquoise color scheme; red and white striped fabric for tablecloths and table runners; daisy centerpieces; and even turquoise fur embellishments.
