Zen In 2010
Managing 576 Facebook friends, three email accounts, two Twitter identities and a social calendar that rivals that of a celebrity can be exhausting -- and, arguably, can cause premature graying, dark under-eye circles and really unnecessary bitchiness. That's why you need a zen plan this year to relax, refresh and reenergize while you take over the world one status update at a time. The key: Effective time management. Here's how to take control in 2010 and beyond.

6. Adopt a mantra
A mantra that soothes the soul and relaxes your mind will put you at ease in any circumstances. Try "Through peace, I gain strength" to remind yourself that, in chaos, you can be more productive if you are calm.
5. Go green
Let yourself slip into the serene sights, sounds and smells of your natural surroundings. Pencil in some bonding time with your local stars, streams, clouds, oceans or hiking trails regularly and experience the nurturing therapy of nature.
4. Make a "good people" list and check it twice
This is the year to streamline your friend list. Keep it lean and clean, filled only with people who encourage you and surround you with positive energy. How do you tell if a friendship stacks up? After you spend time with a "keeper" friend, you feel lighter; if you feel heavier, it may be time to "break up" with that friend.
3. Accept yourself... finally
Becoming at peace with who you are brings strength and is incredibly liberating. Live up to your own expectations, and dance in the body and spirit that you were meant to have, not those that others have in mind for you. Did you blow your New Year's resolution again? Remember that you're only human, and tomorrow's another day.
To give yourself something to look forward to amidst the chaos, treat yourself to a reasonable luxury each week. Reward yourself with a triple-chocolate sundae, a decadent bubble bath, a deluxe mani/pedi or whatever makes it all about you for a few moments. It's all about better time management, and your well being should fit solidly into the plan.
1. Sweet reflections
As you surrender to dreamland, reflect on your day. No matter if Murphy had a chokehold on your every move, find some sprinkling of good in the day -- and there is always something if you look deeply enough. Let go of the negative and accept that through imperfection comes perfection. Slip into your slumber with a smile, focusing on the positive and knowing that tomorrow will bring new opportunities.
