Stacy London
Like her fellow celebrity psoriasis sufferers, Stacy London, star of What Not to Wear, broke her news as a way to empower people who suffer from psoriasis and similar diseases to live normal lives. London found out that she had the condition at the age of 4, and found that humor was the best medicine. Poking fun at herself is actually how Stacy revealed her psoriasis condition to viewers. Afterward, the National Psoriasis Foundation invited her to get involved in their Psoriatic Arthritis Total Approach to Health program.
Although Stacy London uses her role on What Not to Wear to joke around about her own psoriasis, she implores people to be compassionate with psoriasis sufferers. She told OK! Magazine in a 2007 interview, "I think that constructive criticism in this country is sort of really underrated, because what underlies it is a true heartfelt concern. So if you're going to joke around with somebody who has a psoriatic disorder, do it in a way that obviously has some heart to it."
