Psoriasis affects everyone: men, females, adults, children and even celebrities. Here are a few courageous women who face psoriasis in the public eye and how they revealed their condition to the world.
Kim Kardashian
When the paparazzi exposed photos of recent bride Kim Kardashian with red spots on her leg, her devoted fans were concerned. In typical Kardashian fashion, Kim told the world of her skin condition with a visit to her doctor on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Kim mentioned some of the emotional stress that psoriasis causes, saying "People don't understand the pressure on me to look perfect. When I gain a pound, it's in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots."
Kris Jenner
The former Mrs. Kardashian, Kim's mother Kris Jenner, also suffers from psoriasis. Doctors say that the skin condition is hereditary; both discovered the condition in their 30s. Kim has a mild case of psoriasis and has been advised to stray away from stress.
