Exercises With Tires
Next time you have a flat tire, keep it! Amen Iseghohi, founder of Phoenix-based amenZone Fitness Training, helps people stay in shape by simply using old car tires for a back-to-the-basics approach to exercise, dubbed "Primal Fitness." This former junior professional rugby player shares five of his favorite full-body exercises, starting with a warm-up you can do at home with an old tire.

Primal fitness warm-up
Iseghohi begins each of his classes with basic step-ups to increase heart rate.
Step-ups – 2 minutes
Lay the tire flat on the ground and stand in front of it. At a quick pace similar to jogging, tap the top of the tire with each foot in a quick alternating motion, without resting your foot on it, for 2 minutes.
Lateral in-and-outs – 2 to 3 minutes
Now move right into the lateral in-and-out exercise. Start with one foot outside the tire and the other in the center hole. Move the outside foot into the center hole while lifting the leg that is currently in the hole and placing it on the outside of the tire. Keep your knees up while alternating legs in a fluid motion as fast as possible. Both feet should never be outside the tire at the same time.
