We make time for things that are important to us. If you're not making time for the goals you've set for yourself, then they aren't meaningful enough to you. We have to set goals that are significant to us. We often set goals that are more important to others than they are to us. When you set goals that matter, you're excited about what achieving it will mean for you as well as everyone else in your life.
With libraries and the internet, there is no excuse. Where there's a will, there's a way. It's not a cliche, it's the truth. There are too many ways to get the resources you need to achieve your goals. Find people who have achieved the things you want to. Read books, do online research, take a class, hire a coach or personal trainer.
This mindset is a dream killer. Failures experienced in the past are not a reflection of who we are, or what we're capable of achieving today. Learn from the experiences of the past and do things differently this time around. This negative mindset in the pursuit of any goal will make it easy to give up at the first sign of difficulty.
It may not be easy, but it will be worth it! If you're not willing to put in the work necessary to achieve your goals, then I refer you back to the first excuse on the list. If your goals don't command your full effort and commitment, then they aren't important to you. Revise your goals and find ones that really get you fired up!
The good news is you don't have to! Help is there if you ask for it. Share your goals with people you know will support you in achieving them. If you're looking to expand your circle of positive people in your life, check out local meetups in your area. Whether it's moral support or business referrals, you'll be surprised at what's available to you, if you just ask for it.
The truth is that if you're looking for an excuse, you'll always find one. These excuses aren't fact, they're just ideas in our mind that we're trying to convince ourselves are true. The question you should ask yourself when any excuse comes to mind is what if the opposite were true instead? What if you had all the time you needed, you know exactly where to start, you're confident it's going to work, mentally prepared for the bumps in the road and have the best support system imaginable? What wouldn't be possible then?
