Susan is a self-described writer, fitness-junkie, working mom and part-time defender of the universe. Her blog is home to her stories about family, fitness and her attempt to find balance. She lives in Calgary with her husband and two daughters. She says she spent a lifetime thinking about writing but never really did it until 2010, when she started her blog. Susan's ruminations on running, and especially her post on her 2014 triathlon, will have you lacing up your sneakers.

"I’m writer, working mom and athlete. My blog is a place for telling stories about family, fitness and the attempt to find a life in balance. And about finding an alternate, deeper narrative behind and beneath the workout," says Susan.

The Hipster doesn’t have any formal nutrition or fitness training, but her insight is on point.
