Baked asparagus fries

"The way I like to eat asparagus is a little different, but it's easy and good for people who don't want to deal with being too OCD or Giada de Laurentiis in the kitchen. My personal way to make asparagus fries is below, but a similar recipe can be found at Damn Delicious. Enjoy!" — Yvonna Groom, social media manager

Baked asparagus fries recipe

Ingredients:

  • Bunch of asparagus
  • Himalayan sea salt (or any pink salt)
  • Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Garlic
  • Cickpea crumbs or vegan breadcrumbs
  • NOOCH (aka nutritional yeast)
  • Nut milk of your choice
  • Flour of your choice

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Combine spices and crumbs in a bowl and mix well.

3. Mix nut milk and flour together and season with salt and pepper (this is the wet mixture for extra dipping).

4. Dip asparagus in the nut milk mixture, shake, then dip in dry mixture (coat as best you can).

5. Place on a wire rack on a baking sheet or just lay out on a sheet pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until crispy.

Chili-lime roasted asparagus

Chili-lime roasted asparagus

"This chili-lime roasted asparagus recipe by With Food + Love is so good, it’s basically the only way I ever prepare the bundle I pick up at our local farmers market every week. The chili powder gives it a subtle kick that’s only enhanced by the bright, zesty fresh lime juice, and it takes mere minutes to throw together.

"I normally serve it alongside salmon, but it goes just as well with steak or chicken cutlets. To put it mildly, my husband and I can’t get enough."  — Cristina Velocci, director, editorial operations

Bacon-wrapped asparagus

Bacon-wrapped asparagus

"Not gonna lie. I rarely cook with asparagus. The one time I did, it was for a party, and it involved bacon. Needless to say, it was awesome. The recipe I used came from Wholesome Yum, and it was perfect.

"Now, I know what you’re thinking. Bacon? Really? I’m on a diet, girl. But wait; it’s not all that bad for you. This combo is low-carb. It's even appropriate for your Whole 30 diet! At least, this was enough to make me feel better about making and eating it." — Kristine Cannon, entertainment editor
