Mini flower patch desserts
Yields 4 patches
Ingredients and supplies:
- Assorted wafter cookies (we used chocolate and strawberry)
- Chocolate frosting
- About 1/2 cup chocolate cake mix
- 3-1/2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
- Flower-shaped candles
- 4 packages flower or fruit-shaped gummy snacks
To make the cookie boxes, place two whole cookies next to each other standing up. You want enough space between them to place another wafer lying down.
Cut another wafer into thirds for the short ends of the box.
Attach cookies with frosting
Using the chocolate frosting, pipe a line of frosting along the bottom of the side pieces and attach to the bottom cookie.
Attach the smaller side cookies the same way, securing with frosting.
When flower box is assembled, finish by piping a layer of frosting into the bottom of the box.
We did one box with flower candles and one with gummies. To attach the gummies, we cut small white toothpicks in thirds. Then we just stuck the fruit or flower gummy shape to the top.
Mix the cake mix and chocolate chips together. Spoon the "dirt" over the frosting until the box is filled.
Carefully plant the flowers and gummies into the boxes by gently pressing the toothpicks down.
Set up on your dessert bar and enjoy!
