Don't have much of a green thumb? Create a fun little garden this spring with these quick, adorable and easy flower patch desserts!

No gardening expertise, Miracle-Gro or elbow grease needed for these fun flower patches. In fact, everything you need can be found at the grocer! These are as fun to eat as they are to make and make the perfect addition to any spring garden party, bridal shower or barbecue!

Mini flower patch desserts

Yields 4 patches

Ingredients and supplies:

  • Assorted wafter cookies (we used chocolate and strawberry)
  • Chocolate frosting
  • About 1/2 cup chocolate cake mix
  • 3-1/2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
  • Flower-shaped candles
  • 4 packages flower or fruit-shaped gummy snacks

Assemble cookie boxes

To make the cookie boxes, place two whole cookies next to each other standing up. You want enough space between them to place another wafer lying down.

Cut another wafer into thirds for the short ends of the box.

Attach cookies with frosting

Using the chocolate frosting, pipe a line of frosting along the bottom of the side pieces and attach to the bottom cookie.

Attach the smaller side cookies the same way, securing with frosting.

When flower box is assembled, finish by piping a layer of frosting into the bottom of the box.

Attach gummies

We did one box with flower candles and one with gummies. To attach the gummies, we cut small white toothpicks in thirds. Then we just stuck the fruit or flower gummy shape to the top.

"Plant" flowers

Mix the cake mix and chocolate chips together. Spoon the "dirt" over the frosting until the box is filled.

Carefully plant the flowers and gummies into the boxes by gently pressing the toothpicks down.
