Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. While the oven is heating up, mix the baking powder, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in the bowl. Then add the water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract and mix until batter is smooth and fully blended.
Take your brownie batter and pour the mixture evenly into your brownie pan. Gently shake or tap the sides of the pan to even out the batter across the entire pan; this will help the brownies bake evenly in the oven. Place your brownies in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes. If you’re not a fan of the gooey texture, bake a little longer than suggested.
The post-brownie “cleanup” is arguably the best part of this process. Grab your gooey bowl and chocolate-covered spatula and you know what to do from there! Whether it’s just you or the kids are helping too, all of the leftover batter is likely to be gone before these dishes ever reach the sink (thanks to some hungry tummies).
After you’ve fully cooked your brownies, let them cool for about 10 minutes before taking the knife to them. Once cool, cut them into even squares and place them on a festive holiday platter to set out as snacks or for a yummy desert!
