Rice Krispies treat ornaments

Who said you can't eat your ornaments? These delicious, easy to make and absolutely adorable Rice Krispies ornaments are 100 percent edible (except for the ornament top). Plus, now you'll finally have ornaments on your tree that your kids, cats or clumsy husband can't break!

Rice Krispies ornaments

Recipe inspired by Mommy Savers

Yields about 12 ornaments

Ingredients:

• 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
• 10 ounces marshmallows
• 1/4 cup butter or oil
• Blue and green sprinkles
• Gold ornament tops
• Toothpicks

Directions:

Melt butter in a medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat.

Add marshmallows and stir until mixture is completely melted together.

Place Rice Krispies into a large mixing bowl. Once marshmallow mixture is melted, pour over the Rice Krispies and quickly stir to coat the cereal.

While the mixture is warm, quickly roll into medium- and small-size balls.

Dump the colored sprinkles into bowls and then roll the balls into the sprinkles, being sure to completely cover them.

You may need to roll them a few times to get them fully covered.

Using toothpicks, fasten the gold ornament tops on the top of each Rice Krispies ornament.

Repeat until all of the ornaments have tops.

Then display, eat or hang on your tree!
