Quick Ways To Prepare Your Favorite Drinks

Having a bunch of your girlfriends over and have no idea what drink to serve? Instead of stressing yourself out by trying to create the perfect drink, use one of these easy drink shortcuts instead.

Girls night out

Who says you have to be an expert mixologist to whip up a batch of Sex and the City-worthy cosmos? Or a barista at Starbucks to make a mean pumpkin spice latte? Try one of these easy drink shortcuts to create your perfect beverage, stress-free!

Buy mixes

Don't know how to make your own margarita? Too tired or lazy to muddle mint for your mojito? Enjoy your drinks without all the work by purchasing a pre-made drink mix! Many popular cocktails now come pre-mixed with alcohol so all you have to do is chill and pour!

Add your own fizz

Don't want to go to the store and lug back boxes of soda or carbonated water? Make your own, instead, and you'll never have to pay for mixers again. A soda stream maker will set you back around $80, but comes with an assortment of mixes. Not only does this make drink preparation easier, it also saves the environment by minimizing the need for plastic bottles!

Use homemade ingredients

Instead of shelling out your hard-earned money for a pumpkin spice latte at your local coffee shop, make your own pumpkin spice at home with this easy recipe that uses homemade pumpkin pie spice and canned pumpkin. You can also make your own pumpkin spice puree for a quick shortcut to other yummy drinks, like a pumpkin cider or a boozy pumpkin pie.

Improvise

If you don't have the necessary ingredients for your favorite drink, use what you have to make a new one! Tequila is a great swap for rum in frozen drinks, gin is a good substitute for cocktails calling for vodka and champagne, and sparkling wine is a great addition to drinks requiring fizzy water.

Download an app

There's an app for just about everything these days -- drink shortcuts included! Download Mixology, which lets you plug in ingredients and then tells you what you can make with them! The app is also full of other recipe ideas for when you are cocktail-stumped. Another great shortcut app is Drinks Master, which houses about 12,000 recipes for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Buy a stencil

Want a fancy latte with designs and sayings made from foam without having to travel to Portland or Seattle? Buy a stencil! Stencils like these on Amazon create the pretty look you want without paying extra for it! Impress your friends and family with this easy (and cheap) shortcut idea!

I am all about buying pre-made mixes. They usually taste great, and since they're mixed with alcohol no one really cares anyways, haha!
