Rose is the perfect summer sip: light and refreshing. These rose wine cocktail recipes are just the right choice for unwinding on a warm day.

Rose is great on its own, but you can add a little punch to a glass of rose by turning it into a cocktail. Depending on the rose you choose, your rose wine cocktail will be sweet or dry. If need be, adjust the sweetness with a splash of simple syrup to taste.

Basil lemonade rose wine cocktail

Makes 1

Ingredients:

  • 2 large basil leaves, roughly torn
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 5 ounces rose
  • 1 ounce citrus vodka
  • Simple syrup, as needed
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Place basil and lemon in a glass and muddle well.
  2. Fill glass with ice, then add rose and citrus vodka. Stir.
  3. Add simple syrup, if desired.

Rose wine margarita cocktail

Makes 1

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces rose
  • 1 ounce white tequila
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Simple syrup, as needed
  • Salt
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Run the lime wedge along the rim of the glass, then dip rim in salt.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Squeeze lime into glass, then add rose, tequila and triple sec. Stir.
  3. Add simple syrup, if desired.

Strawberry-grapefruit rose wine cocktail

Makes 1

Ingredients:

  • 2 strawberries
  • 3 ounces rose
  • 1 ounce strawberry vodka
  • 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
  • Simple syrup, as needed
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Place strawberries in a glass and muddle well.
  2. Fill glass with ice, then add rose, strawberry vodka and grapefruit juice. Stir.
  3. Add simple syrup, if desired.
