Rejoice! Today is a holiday custom made for coffee bean connoisseurs: National Coffee Day.

Why is there a National Coffee Day? Well, The National Coffee Association reports that over 161 million people drink coffee on at least a semi-regular basis. This obsession means that over 117 million bags of coffee beans are harvested from 16 different countries each year. That's a lot of brewing!

Coffee retailers across the country are offering free coffee specials to commemorate the coffee phenomenon. This is great news, especially with the ever-increasing price of coffee. Here are a few coffee companies offering free coffee specials in honor of National Coffee Day:
