How to make the perfect margarita

There is no better way to cool off in the summer time heat than with a refreshing margarita. But even when it’s cloudy outside this fantastic low-carb margarita recipe will always manage to conjure up a glassful Mexican sunshine.

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 60ml tequila (if possible use a good agave, like Anejo 1800 Reserve)
  • 30ml Triple Sec
  • 30ml Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
  • 30ml fresh lime juice
  • 120-150ml sugar-free lemonade

Directions:

Use a shot glass for easy measuring. Mix all ingredients over ice in a shaker cup and strain into salted martini glasses, serving "up."

Note: This margarita recipe is not very low in carbs, but it is preferable to traditional margaritas.

Per serving: 9.81g carbs, 0.06g dietary fiber, 0.10g protein, 0.06g total fat, 0.00mg cholesterol, 1.57mg sodium, 154.46 calories
