Firehouse chili


  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cans pork and beans
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion salt


  1. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat; add onions and bell pepper and cook in oil until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add all other ingredients. Stir together, then heat until very hot.
  3. Serve topped with cheese, sour cream, and chopped cilantro.
