Make interesting and refreshing summer cocktails with fresh herbs picked right from your garden. Basil, mint, rosemary, and thyme, among others, make tasty cocktails that are perfect for enjoying on a hot summer day.

Thyme bellini

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 3 white peach slices, peeled
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 4 ounces chilled Champagne

Directions

  1. Add peach slices, thyme, and sugar in a cocktail shaker; muddle with the back of a spoon or a muddler until peaches are well pureed.
  2. Pour mixture into a champagne glass and top off with Champagne. Garnish with peach slice or sprig of thyme.

Strawberry basil mojito

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 3 strawberries, sliced
  • 4 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 1/4 cup sparkling water

Directions

  1. Combine strawberries, basil, and sugar in a shaker. Muddle with the back of a spoon or muddler until strawberries are well pureed.
  2. Fill shaker with ice then add rum; shake well and pour into a cocktail glass. Top glass off with sparkling water then garnish with a strawberry slice or basil sprig.

Mango and sage martini

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 4 mango slices, peeled
  • 3 fresh sage leaves
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces orange juice
  • 2 ounces vodka

Directions:

  1. Combine mango, sage, and sugar in a cocktail shaker and muddle until mango is well pureed. Fill shaker with ice and add orange juice and vodka.
  2. Shake well and pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a mango slice or a sage leaf.
